Kalla A. Gervasio, M.D. is the Saint Louis Combined Oculofacial Surgery Fellow at Ophthalmic Plastic and Cosmetic Surgery, Inc. in St. Louis, MO. Dr. Gervasio was raised in Washington Crossing, PA in the Philadelphia suburbs. She attended the University of Pennsylvania for her undergraduate studies where she graduated Phi Beta Kappa and Summa Cum Laude with a B.A. in Classical Studies. While at Penn, she also completed the prestigious Civic Scholars program, a 4-year community service program culminating in a capstone senior thesis project. After college, she spent a year conducting public health research for the Trenton Health Team, Inc. a nonprofit organization in Trenton, NJ. She then went on to medical school at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City where she graduated with distinction in research and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.

She stayed in NYC for an additional year where she completed her transitional year internship at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. Dr. Gervasio then returned to her hometown of Philadelphia, PA for her ophthalmology residency at Wills Eye Hospital, where she served as Chief Resident and was selected to be the text editor for the 8th edition of the Wills Eye Manual. During residency, she developed a specific interest in oncology and orbital surgery and chose to pursue both neuro-ophthalmology and oculoplastics. She first completed a neuro-ophthalmology fellowship under the tutelage of Drs. Mark Moster, Robert Sergott, and Sarah Thornton at Wills Eye Hospital. She is now completing her ASOPRS oculofacial surgery fellowship with Drs. John Holds and Adam Buchanan at Ophthalmic Plastic and Cosmetic Surgery, Inc. and Drs. Philip Custer, Steven Couch, and Robi Maamari at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis.

Her hobbies and interests include playing tennis, watching Philadelphia sports, music, traveling, ancient Greek history, and spending time with her family.
