Welcome to Ophthalmic Plastic & Cosmetic Surgery, Inc, with locations in St. Louis and St. Peters, Missouri! From that perspective, we must roll back to the three “A’s” Dr. Holds learned in medical school over 30 years ago – affable, available and able.

We do our best to provide a friendly and comfortable environment that allows patients to make decisions and undergo treatment in a non-threatening fashion. We must also be available, and the practice has always strived to have access and health insurance participation to allow care to those in need, working hard to see emergency patients whenever needed. Finally, we strive to be the best at everything we do at all times. Imperfect work is never accepted, and continuous improvement is always needed – this defines the “practice” of medicine.

John B. Holds, M.D., F.A.C.S.

Dr. Holds is an Ophthalmic Plastic Surgeon who has practiced in St. Louis since 1990. An ophthalmic plastic surgeon is an ophthalmologist or eye surgeon who has specialized in plastic surgery around the eye. Dr. Holds is a Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology and Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at Saint Louis University. He regularly lectures physicians in courses on topics in cosmetic and reconstructive eyelid and facial surgery, and has been listed in “Best Doctors in America” since 1994.

I had cataract surgery last summer thinking I would have the same results others have had that everything looks so bright and clear. I did feel like I was no longer looking through cellophane but did not have that ah hah feeling of a bright new world. I have been dealing with ptosis on both of my eyelids for years. It has happened so gradually I didn’t realize the effect on my sight until I had surgery to correct it this summer. Dr John Holds did the surgery and now I am seeing a whole new world. Over the past several months since the surgery, I am still so amazed with the range of what I can see. From my first appointment with Dr. Holds until my last checkup I couldn’t have been more pleased with the professional care I was given. The staff at the office and surgical center were also friendly and caring. I would highly recommend their services if you have a need for it.

Great Results, Awesome Experience!

Dr. Holds and his team exceeded my expectations in both my results and the experience I had when I made the tough decision to have upper and lower eyelid surgeries. I am a 63 year-old female who had very droopy upper lids and puffy lower lids and I always looked tired. The surgery and recuperation period went very well.
