Dr. Thompson

Dr. John Thompson is a board-certified ophthalmologist and fellowship-trained oculofacial plastic surgeon in St. Louis, Missouri. He specializes in cosmetic and reconstructive surgery of the eyelids and face, including blepharoplasty, ptosis repair, eyelid malposition, reconstruction following skin cancer or trauma, tear duct surgery, and orbital surgery.

Dr. Thompson graduated magna cum laude from Tufts University and attended the Joe R. and Teresa Lozano Long School of Medicine at UT Health San Antonio, where he graduated at the top of his class. He completed his ophthalmology residency at Louisiana State University in New Orleans and was recognized as the Outstanding Graduating Resident.

He then completed a two-year, ASOPRS-approved fellowship in Oculofacial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Emory University in Atlanta under Dr. Ted Wojno. He was named Emory Eye Center Fellow of the Year during his final year of training. Dr. Thompson provides individualized care with an emphasis on preserving or restoring function while achieving natural-appearing results.
