What to Expect at Your First Botox Appointment

Where we Begin

When a person is ready to refresh their appearance, they often make an appointment to get Botox injections. Because Botox is so well-known, there is a chance it can also be misunderstood. To make sure that we administer the most appropriate treatment to each of our patients, we begin all new appointments with a brief consultation. This conversation covers what your concerns are and what you wish to achieve. If Botox is the right product for your goals, we can move right to your treatment!

Botox Treatment

The biggest question that new patients typically have about their Botox injections is if they hurt. They don’t. When we administer injectables, we use a very small needle. For this treatment, the needle is inserted into the superficial muscle, where tension is pulling the skin into a crease. During your treatment, you can expect to feel tiny pinches that last only a second or two. The entire process may take about 10 to 15 minutes.

Recovery and Results

We typically expect Botox patients to immediately resume normal activities. There is no significant downtime after injectables. However, patients do often experience some degree of swelling and redness. When you get Botox for the first time, you can’t know how extensive your redness and swelling will be or how you will feel about it. For that reason, you may want to go home after your appointment and observe how your body responds after injections.

Your rejuvenating results after Botox will accumulate over 5 to 7 days. Once wrinkles are smoothed, you can expect to look refreshed for 3 to 6 months. With occasional touch-ups, you can maintain a more youthful appearance that makes you feel amazing!
